This video was recorded by Satdeep Gill in Esino Lario, Italy, where he and Zaeem were visiting for the Wikimania 2016 conference. Hindko is spoken by as many as 625,000 people, primarily in Pakistan's western provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A Punjabi language, it shares similarities with a variety of mother tongues spoken throughout western Pakistan and Eastern India. Pashto is spoken by as many as 60 million people, primarily by the Pashtun people of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and by several other communities as a regional lingua franca. Zaeem's native variety of Northern Pashto, spoken by some 20 million people, is sometimes also referred to as Pekhawari.
