Chaldean Neo-Aramaic is a Neo-Aramaic language spoken by approximately 220,000 people. It is a member of the Aramaic branch of the Semitic language family and is spoken mainly on the plain of Mosul and Iraqi Kurdistan in the north of Iraq, and by Chaldean communities in many other countries.
