Southern Grebo is part of the Grebo dialect cluster of the Kru languages, spoken in present-day Liberia and Ivory Coast. There are close to 400,000 native speakers of the Grebo languages, with around 99,000 in Liberia speaking South Grebo specifically. As with other Kru languages, tone is extremely important in Southern Grebo.
