This video was recorded by Abhinash Das in Barpathar, Assam, India. Bodo is spoken across Assam, where it is co-official language, and in the state of Meghalaya. It is also spoken in the neighboring country of Bangladesh. Being one of the 22 scheduled languages of India, it is used by more than 1.5 million people. In 1963, Bodo was introduced as the medium of instruction in primary schools across Bodo majority areas.
