Alok speaking Adivasi
Recorded in Santipur, A semi urban area near Barpathar town in Karbi Anglong district of Assam. The speaker lives in Nambor Nadi Tea Estate in Karbi Anglong district. He is native of the adivasi language which is used in tea tribes community of Assam,India. The tea tribes of Assam had brought to Assam by the Britishers to work as workers in the tea gardens of Assam. They are originally from the Indian state Jharkhand and some are from odisha. Interestingly there are many sub-groups exist in the tea tribes and their languages are also different from each other. The language used in this video is the language that is used by commonly most of the members of this community.
